Lal Sohanra
Overview
The park itself is situated some 35 kilometres east of Bahawalpur and presents a synthesis of forest and desert life. It occupies land on both sides of Desert Branch canal, Lake Patisar, a large body of water in the center of the park, is ideal for bird watching. In mid-winter, the lake is regularly home to between 10,000 and 30,000 ducks and common coot. Over 400 animals are currently being bred in the Lal Sohanra Park, including a large population of blackbucks.

Located approximately 35 kilometers to the east of Bahawalpur, Lal Sohanra Park offers a unique blend of both forest and desert ecosystems. This expansive park spans across the terrain on both sides of the Desert Branch canal. One of its key features is Lake Patisar, a substantial body of water nestled in the heart of the park, offering an excellent opportunity for bird enthusiasts. During the mid-winter season, this lake becomes a temporary haven for an impressive population of between 10,000 to 30,000 ducks and common coots. Lal Sohanra Park also plays a vital role in the conservation of wildlife, currently housing over 400 animals, including a thriving community of blackbucks.
